Landscape Angel

Gnome by Barbara Thomas

REMINDER from Mano:

It is hard to express my delight when Barbara experienced immediate strength and support after she received my message to ask for help going up the stairs.

REMARKS from Barbara:

The guidance, support and interaction with my Council and team during the week at Lake Tahoe was as important and rewarding as the program I went to attend.

REMEMBERING Mary Jane:

Sitting outside with my back to a tree, I remembered the first time Mary Jane and I sat in the Amphitheater with our backs to the Mother Tree. She brought out a thermos of tea that had two cups enclosed in the lid. I felt her love and kindness and care for the people she would be with.

I had a wonderful week at Lake Tahoe with old and new friends when I attended the JFO Camp for Athletes of the Spirit. I attended my first camp 62 years ago and have touched base, if not attended the whole week, every year since.

Lake Tahoe was amazingly beautiful. I spent many hours looking over the wide expanse of water to the trees and mountain across the lake.

When I got home, I continued my project of organizing my den and bookshelves. I opened The Real World of Fairies by Dora van Gelder at random to a page where she describes her experience of the LANDSCAPE ANGEL. Mano gave me a flash of awareness that the blessing I felt looking across Lake Tahoe to the forest beyond was the LANDSCAPE ANGELS blessing me all the time I sat in reverie looking over the lake at the landscape.

In my current 96 years of life, I am actually very strong. Although I discovered that walking the flight of stairs to get to the dining hall was a real push, I decided not to take the elevator but use these stairs as an opportunity to build more strength in my legs. With help of banister and my cane, I took one step at a time, until I remembered years ago the experience I had when digging an asparagus bed and a little gnome stood in front of me with his hands on his hips saying, “YOU HAVE NOT ONCE ASKED FOR HELP!” And so immediately upon remembering this I called on my Elemental Helpers for assistance and strength. The change was amazing and the next day I walked up the stairs one step at a time in half the time it took me before I had asked for help.

Later, in my room, I spent about five minutes looking for a book before I remembered to ask for help finding it. Once I asked, I pulled back the bed spread and there it was. My gratitude was overwhelming and I could almost hear little giggles from the elementals who had helped me.

As we drove out of the mountain, Mano asked me to send blessing and gratitude to the first line of trees facing the freeway. He said, while the trees are stationary the Tree Spirits take turns embodying the trees on the front line. The traffic, the sound, the human impact, is so intense that The Landscape Angel has found a way to protect the trees in the front row facing the freeway.

I actively send love, gratitude, appreciation, and blessings to the Landscape I have taken for granted. Being introduced to the Landscape Angel has opened my heart to recognize all of the many nature spirits, little and big animals, little and big tree spirits, rivers, lakes, and streams that are involved within the consciousness of the Landscape Angels.

Dear Barbara, I had not been to Boulder Creek in 44 years in 2012 . I had returned for a high school reunion. When I got out of the car and I looked up at all the redwoods surrounding the town, they recognized me from before when I was a young girl. I stood there in amazement at their spirits acknowledging my presence in unison.
I reveled in their excitement . I felt great love from them and my excitement and joy to still feel connected with their amazing spiritual energy was by far a spiritual reunion I did not expect to experience.
    Love and sharing from Holly

  2. Barbara, I too am a nature lover and have communed in its beauty all my life. I write poems and songs about Mother Earth and share them in the community with family, friends, open mics, and Magdelena Montage’s groups through S.C. Libraries. Presently taking a poetry class at Cabrillo College w/ David Sullivan to enhance my creative writing skills. I’m strongly called to use these formats as a spokeswoman for various causes, which I will continue to do. The conception of “A Garden Of Treasures”, occurred at Juliet Goldstein’s Greenwood Arts group many years ago. “In the garden are many treasures, and you are the most precious jewel.” The characters are named after precious stones, jewels, and gems. If you have any suggestions or guidance as I move forward with this project I would appreciate any word of wisdom you may have. Thanks and many blessings for a healthy autumn. Warm regards, Michele (PS I have attended the Sacred Circle dance there for many years, grateful for you having us in your gorgeous grove, studio and home!)

    Hello Barbara!
I’m not sure whether you visited North or South Lake Tahoe—but if you travel up this way again on HWY 80 ——please come visit me in Auburn! Currently, I’m working with my Elementals on repairing my ice cube maker. The Landscape Angels 😇 are amazing!
    Happy October!
    Liz
