Bringing Spirit to Matter

Bringing Spirit to Matter

In this time of great change, all attempts to reach toward a new paradigm of unification—joining again the elemental, angelic, and human realms, the right brain with the left, spirit and science, the complex marvels of nature with the human fiddling that is instinctive in our beings—all of these attempts surely have a role to play. They don’t always agree or even get along, and probably none of them, alone, is complete, but we can honor them and strive to reconcile and integrate them.

My brother has worked, since the early 70s, to incorporate a new paradigm that embraces paradox. He always reminds me that this sort of bridging from old to new is a difficult right of passage, not a trivial thing, and attempting it is necessarily messy. It is hard to hold the purity of the original while connecting to the other systems, and it’s hard to be in a living system where nothing holds still.

I believe this blog is one of those bridging efforts, too, engaged as it is with the challenge of honoring Mano and the elemental world, honoring Barbara’s revelations and dedication, and then making the presentation interesting and accessible even to those who roll their eyes and snort (as well as those who are devoted to elemental world realities and those who are at least open to them). So we (Mano, Barbara, and Mary Jane) are engaged with this weaving together, of old with new, of new with new, of the journey back to recover the old. Your comments are always welcome, helping us locate markers on the spectrum of “best ways” to include the elemental world in the conversation of change.

One way of staying on track with our own particular contribution to this conversation is to touch in regularly with essences—the original knowing and inspiration that led to the blog’s creation. Barbara’s notebooks provide this dip into gnome consciousness, “the root, the law, the earth.”

The Council of Gnomes advises: “The wisdom and structure of earth is the focus of our service, to assist the evolution of the planet and encourage planetary beings to return in consciousness to God’s openness and the planetary logos as a cell within the solar logos.”

Barbara responds: “I see you are having me focus on gnome consciousness to keep me grounded in my body, to bring spirit to matter rather than trying to leave my body to be spiritual. I am to be spiritual in the body; this will feed the cells of my body, the cells of the earth, the consciousness of gnome and earth beings.”

Mano replies, “You have it right, Barbara. We often need to re-phrase something to you many times. One reason there appear to be contradictions to our teaching is that we look for words that make sense to you. We think we have it and then see by your actions and thoughts that it is not quite right.”

“So often when I hear the information you have just given me,” Barbara says, “I feel like there is nothing new; I have heard this before. I wonder if I am just saying the same things to myself over and over.”

“In one way that is true,” agrees Mano. “It is the same information over and over. The difference is that I AM SPEAKING TO YOU. You are not speaking to yourself. Until you move into the naturalness of the process, remembering easily with confidence, I will continue to say the same thing. It is imperative that this basic information becomes second nature to you. It will come. We do not want you to get sick to work these things through. We want you to do it with ease, accepting the love and grace that is always available.”

“It is a hard time on planet earth. There is much sadness and fear. We are called upon in ways that are many and varied to bring balance to the internal structure of the planet, to hold her on a balanced course. The emotional bodies of many throughout humanity are so out of balance they are causing a dangerous situation for the Mother. We need humans with heart to counter-balance the mistakes that are being contemplated.”

“We can no longer go on alone. We are in deep need of the feeding we receive from interacting with the human kingdom, and you are in deep need of us to sustain your life by interacting with nature. Our simplest request is that you recognize the life force within soil, air, and water, and acknowledge the green and growing things as living beings. Speak to us, relate, and if you have use of our bodies, give thanks for that gift.”

The Council often urges Barbara to spend time in quiet, “so that your human consciousness will be available for us to use as an intermediary in the working of human consciousness. We are asking you, and many humans who consciously work with us, to keep your own lives in balance and harmony.”
