Barbara missed writing the July blog, and is resisting writing this blog for August. She does not want to turn to Mary Jane for support, so I, Mano, am stepping forth to take over writing the blog. Since I want you to know what is going on in Barbara’s and my life, I will take over and write to you. It is really quite exciting to talk to you directly rather than through Barbara.

On June 1, Barbara was taken to emergency hospital and kept for a couple of days. She returned home for one week, contracted Covid, then was sent back to the hospital for a couple more days. This time coming home she remained floating above or below consciousness for a few days. Between the hospital stays, Donna, Barbara’s daughter, came to care for her and will remain until things get settled.

Still in a wheelchair and semi-conscious, the big move we all have been waiting for was made, returning her to her new home on July 2, almost two years after the SCZ fire ate our precious Amity Cottage.

I Mano, would modestly like to admit that it was Barbara’s Council supporting Peter, Barbara’s son, and Karl, the contractor for the new house, that played a large part in the miracle Barbara is experiencing. 900 houses burned in the fire. A year later only 90 permits to rebuild had been approve by Santa Cruz county officials. Now another year later, the report is that only 10 families are actually living in their newly constructed homes. Barbara is one of that number.

It looks like I have intrigued Barbara’s interest and she wants to tell the next part of her story.

Barbara writes:

I was home from my second trip to the hospital for three days when I realized I had not felt the presence of my Council or the elemental workers that live and interact with me each day. I asked what was going on but no one answered. For the first time in all of the years we have been in relationship I was not able to see any of my Council. My mind was groggy and I slept a lot. Things around me got very active as the move to the mountain into my new home, Amity Lodge, was orchestrated by my loving family and friends.

The first week after moving into my home, while lying on the couch I saw 5 gnomes on the couch beside and on top of me. I was aware of Mano’s Presence. He explained to me what had happened since I first went to the hospital.

I was so sick that I was not in my body. The elementals lived under me to keep me alive and above Consciousness. After five days in my new home, I was back in my body and the elementals were released from their ‘duty’ to keep me floating in a level of consciousness and keep me from sinking down into unconsciousness.

All through this period of hovering between what felt like life and death I held a deep desire to be alive to celebrate my 95th birthday on August 9. For some reason that birthday feels like a new beginning and a whole new celebration of life would open up for me if I could just live to pass into the 95th year of life.

As I write all of that it sounds like fantasy. All I can say, from the time I entered the hospital my life has felt like fantasy and I am glad that today, August 1, two months later, I feel like I am ‘coming home to myself at last.’

Dear Barbara, I am grateful to read this account through You and Mano. I am without doubt that Your elemental Friends were holding You up so well during Your ‘floating time’. Amity Lodge is quite a spectacular creation whose Spirit seems to have always lived there; like the temple, itself, was just waiting for its physical creation. Like the temple, itself, was waiting for this right time and this version of You. Happy 95th year in Your beautiful living! Grateful for You and the magyc You live with.
