Infused With the Muse

Infused With the Muse

REMINDER from Mano:

You always have guidance. You always have your Guardian Angel and elemental companions watching over you.  Whether you call us Guides, Muse, Inspiration, it doesn’t matter. The point is to recognize you are not alone.  Spirit is always with you.

REMARKS from Barbara:

In sharing my latest book, Infused with the Muse, I have included the Table of Contents to give you an idea what is in the book, and some of the text to give you a feel of my sharing.

REMEMBERING Mary Jane:

I totally enjoy writing this Blog.  It never would have happened if Mary Jane had not said yes to Mano’s request and then gently opened the door for me to interface with Mano and Mary Jane on a monthly basis.

Infused With the Muse

Blog #105

During this year of evacuation, while my new home is being built, I have gathered poetry and prose written after I turned 80 (I am now 94). In this blog I am going to share some of my writings.

THE MUSE:

When life comes to a pause
and I don’t know where to go
the Muse steps in
to get the show on the road

A line for a poem floats through my head
If I jot it down quick and get out of bed
She will continue her story a line at a time

revealing suggestions for action in this life of mine

The Real Barbara Thomas

On August 19,2020, ten days after I turned 93,
my sweet cottage burned to the ground
in the Santa Cruz fires of 2020.
I evacuated to live in my apartment in Capitola Village.

With the help of my son Peter, I started plans
to rebuild immediately.
The words, “I am going to build a Japanese-style house” floated out of my mouth without ever touching my mind.

My Guiding Spirits were immediately present
to support me through this trauma and transition.
Their first guidance was to tell me that
the burning of the cottage was a “sacrificial offering.”
Now, eight months later, a hint of the story has been revealed.

The night that Jim died, early in 2004,
when I went to bed, an audible, loud, sarcastic voice said, “Will the REAL Barbara Thomas please step forward?”
I was shocked. The voice was so strong and powerful.
I was intrigued; I had never lived alone.

I wondered, just who is the Real Barbara Thomas? I was challenged, curious and excited
to find out just who IS the Real Barbara Thomas.
I was ready for the adventure of self-discovery.

Jim and I had planned to live in Europe that summer, starting with a tour of Ireland with Mara Freeman
and ending the summer with a workshop and tour of Wales with our teacher, R. J. Stewart.

I decided to invite a friend to go with me on the Irish tour,
to come home between trips,
then take another friend to the workshop and tour of Wales.

Both of the trips were focused on visiting
Neolithic monuments and ancient sacred sites.
I met a part of myself in the cairn at Loughcrew
and had another transformative experience in Wales.
I returned to Europe for the next two years
to visit sacred sites in Cornwall, Scotland, and England.

Opportunity came to study tarot with Pamela Eakins,
which I did for the next seven years.
Now I use the tarot as a daily conversation and for guidance with my Council.
For more than four years I studied the Ubunda teachings
of the elements and elementals with Tina de Susa.
In all of these travels and studies, I was picking up parts
of the Real Barbara Thomas.

From 2014 through 2020, I spent time every day
for the three months of summer
doing small ink drawings, using a stick from the land, recording the energies of the spirits who live in the sacred site on my own land, the Amphitheater.

Last night it was revealed that the transition is in process. The sweet little cottage I shared with Jim
in the heart of the redwood forest
was the home of Barbara and Jim Thomas.

The new Japanese-style home I am building
is the residence of the Real Barbara Thomas.
The musings in this book record the years of transition.

The Muse

I do not think of myself as a poet
I simply am lucky enough
To recognize when the Muse wants to speak

And close enough to paper and pen or computer
To record what she has to say

When the Muse Arrives

When the muse arrives
she must be attended to immediately. She is not willing to wait
for a quick phone call or email.

Unfortunately, that is my morning learning, my morning lesson.
I was excited to write what she said
to share with my writing group today.

Now she is gone.
Phone call made, email written,
and now no Muse,
no remembering what she had to say.

Oh well! Oh hell!
another lesson, another learning.

Oh yes! Oh, she is giving in.
I am beginning to remember.
Not as clearly as before,
just an inkling of memory.
I will see if she will swing by again to inspire me.

Intentions

The way I look at intentions
is to become a partner with God

Two ways of looking at living an intentional life:

PHYSICAL
What you think about comes about What you feel you make real

SPIRITUAL
God has given his angels charge over thee to guide thee in all thy ways

Angels pick up your intention
and create a pattern of consciousness
Then give it to the elementals to fill it with substance and form

Closing Comments

I have found setting intentions to be such an efficient way to focus my life.

Clearly naming what I want to happen as an intention, instead of wishful thinking or hoping, focuses my mind, embraced with the love in my heart, giving thanks to the angels.

Covers all bases, then of course to acknowledge and once again give gratitude when the intention has been fulfilled. This is one of the very sweet and wonderful ways my Council has guided my life.

Congratulations on the book Barbara !
Important “take always” for me to remember are, we are never alone and that the Elementals fill the pattern of consciousness with substance and form.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022!

    This is so powerful, Barbara:

“Clearly naming what I want to happen as an intention, instead of wishful thinking or hoping, focuses my mind, embraced with the love in my heart, giving thanks to the angels.”

    THANK YOU!

  4. Dearest Barbara, I finally read this, and it is the perfect time! What a gift you are in my life! I am in process of emerging newly without Avon as my mentor, my muse… and while it is painful I also feel the joy you express of emerging newly, finding my own ground, my stand, my deep core…. I see in my mind’s eye your and Jim’s wonderful cottage, and know that your new Barbara home will be exquisite, just as you are…. So dear to me!
    Much much love, Joanie
